2022 Tuggeranong.
Inspired by the album, Suburbs’ by Arcade Fire. This project is about the district I have lived in for the last 39 years. Tuggeranong now sprawls past the original suburbs of Kambah and Wanniassa, through the suburbs of Fadden, to Theodore and Calwell, down past the Murrumbidgee River to Banks and Conder.
This town can be desolate; it can be beautiful; it juxtaposes the natural landscape with often incongruent aspects of modern living.
The people are a resilient bunch, and Tuggeranong pride is strong. This project aims to reflect the place and the people. Though landscapes, still life and environmental portraits, it tells the story of a Canberra town centre part of Canberra yet with an identity all its own.
